Tell us about your story and how you got to where you are?
I’m .M.E.N.A.C.E., a West Baltimore storyteller that paints pictures of graphic street life. I grew up like a lot of kids in my city. We all start off somebody’s perfect angel until we start this journey we call life. I always loved music since a child and wanted to rap. Real life get in the way of childhood dreams sometimes because by the age of 8 I knew what murder look like up close in person. One moment you walking to the candy lady house to get a frozen cup then the next you hear shots. Shit became normal. In these type of environments everything comes down to choices. I’m someone who made of bunch of choices. Good, ugly, bad and life changing choices. I learned from trial & error. One reason for the errors was a lack of guidance and vision. And that’s where I come in with my artistry! My experiences make me qualified to speaks on the wins and losses of the street.

What has been your biggest obstacle in your journey as an artist?
Nothing really to be honest because obstacles are meant to be overcome. Shit never feels good when it’s too easy. The hustle & grind build ambition, hunger, and makes a man out you.

What lessons have you learned?
Words are power! Whatever you speak into your existence will appear.

Tell us about your music; how would you describe your sound?
Raw & uncut. True Street Realism! A lot of my content speaks about dark realities most of my listeners will never see.

What other artists would you compare yourself to?
I really don’t like to compare myself to anybody because I feel one of a kind. But if I had to choose a artist I would definitely say 50 Cent.

If you could work with any artists, who would you choose?
Mozzy is one of my favorites that I look forward to tapping in wit. G Perico is another one. I can’t think of everybody at the moment. But I’m a fan of a lot of artists so I’m open to collaborate, as long as you have morals and principles. I take my craft seriously and so should everyone else.

What sets you apart from other artists?
My authenticity and attention to detail in my music. Anybody can talk about killing people or selling drugs. Question is can you paint a vivid picture? Can you make your words come to life and force the human brain into a self envisioned movie? Most these niggas can’t!

What should we know about your work?
It’s from the heart.

What are your plans for the future?
Get rich and take care of my people.

What motivates you, or keeps you going?
My 2 daughters Amaya & Noel. The obstacles I’ve overcome and everything I represent. Baltimore is home of the underdogs. When I win I show another young kid in the trenches he can do it too.

Tell us something that might surprise people about you
Im a huge American Horror Story fan. I like how writers can use the most horrific stories based on true to create stories on screen. Stories that gives history lessons on sadistic American while entertaining. That shit is a masterpiece.

How do you define success?
Success to me is a spiritual & mentally thing only you can say who’s more successful then you or even validate what is successful if you get what I mean in other words my success is defined by me I feel like I’m already successful by pursing my dreams N tryna get my family out this mf beautiful struggle but to some success is defined by material shit like chains whips n shit like that tbh success to me is moving forward wit progression and positivity cause every step you take towards your main goal is success when you get to your goal now you’ve reached being successful cause you have succeeded in every milestone you had now you reached your goal ain’t no more succeeding to do you already won

Tell us about any projects or music you have coming out.
I just dropped a new project called “90s Baby Freestyles”. Hosted by DJ Nick from Marino Infantry. That’s out now exclusively on SoundCloud, Audiomack and YouTube! All classic 90s beats getting slaughtered from Biggie’s “Suicidal Thoughts “ to DPG’s legendary diss track “ New York New York”. Following that bomb we’ll be dropping “In King Munch We Trust “ so stay tuned.
