Asia Dime Brings Bakersfield Energy and West Coast Confidence to New Single “Get It”

Asia Dime wants everything she’s working for—and her upcoming single “Get It” puts that ambition front and center. The Bakersfield rapper is bringing a record built for movement, confidence, and a good time, with a distinctly West Coast feel.

For the trapLA audience getting familiar, her introduction is straightforward: “Asia Dime is a rapper, entertainer, and creator on a mission to create her own lane and leave a lasting impact.”

Behind that confidence is a story that stretches from Lompoc to Bakersfield, from singing and writing poetry to finding her voice as a rapper.

From Survival Mode to Finding a Purpose

Asia Dime was raised in Lompoc, California, before moving permanently to Bakersfield around middle school. The adjustment wasn’t easy.

“Growing up in Bakersfield put me in survival mode—at least, that’s how it felt for me,” she explains.

She remembers being unhappy about the move and feeling surrounded by shootings, gangs, and situations she wanted to avoid. Finding something productive to focus on became a priority. Music and creativity gave her that direction.

As she got older, her definition of success expanded beyond money. She began thinking about creating opportunities, building something of her own, and becoming the person she wanted to be.

“I came from an environment that taught me to survive, but I decided I wanted to do more than survive,” she says. “I wanted to succeed. I wanted to create my own lane. And I wanted my story to inspire somebody else to choose their purpose over their circumstances.”

Singing Came First. Rap Kept Her Going.

Before she was rapping, Asia Dime was singing and writing R&B songs. In high school, she began writing poetry, which eventually led her toward rap.

Making that transition took some nerve. She recalls telling a friend she wanted to rap but was scared to put herself out there. Her solution was to release both a rap song and an R&B song and let the response help her decide which direction to pursue.

Both did well. But rap had her attention.

“I couldn’t stop rapping after that,” she says.

She kept releasing songs and remixes, building consistency while drawing encouragement from her city’s support. That combination pushed her to take Asia Dime seriously as an artist.

“Get It” Is a Female Response With West Coast Energy

The inspiration for “Get It” came from Marc Nasty and AD’s “Mmmm Mmm.” Asia Dime wanted to bring a female perspective to that energy while returning to a sound she felt was overdue in her own releases.

“It’s been a long time since I dropped some West Coast heat,” she explains.

The title also speaks to where she is personally: ready to go after the things she’s been putting in work for.

“I named it ‘GET IT’ because that’s what it’s time to do,” she says. “I want everything I’m working hard for!”

She describes the record as something listeners can move to however they feel—whether that means dancing, head-bobbing, or hitting a two-step. The mood behind it was confident and upbeat.

“This was a feel-good song,” she says. “So you can say I was feeling real good.”

Recorded at Home, Finished With Bakersfield Talent

Kaycee Beats made the beat for “Get It,” while Bakersfield engineer Dre Malik handled mixing and mastering. Asia Dime recorded her vocals at home and sent the stems to Dre to finish the record.

She also has an idea for where the song could go next: a collaboration with Marc Nasty.

Asia says she would love to connect for a remix, bringing her female response into a collaboration with one of the artists who inspired it. For now, that remains a collaboration she hopes to make happen.

The cover reinforces the song’s direction with palm trees and a lowrider—details she chose deliberately.

“This song was made specifically for the West Coast,” she explains. “That’s simply us all the way.”

More Than One Sound

For listeners who discovered Asia Dime through “Da Birthday,” she wants “Get It” to make one thing clear: she plans to keep coming.

“Consistency is key,” she says.

But consistency doesn’t mean every release will sound alike. Asia describes herself as an artist willing to move through drill, pop, rap, and R&B, with an interest in exploring Spanish-language music as well.

“Nobody knows how I’m coming until I come,” she says.

She also recognizes that her sex appeal can shape how people perceive her before they engage with the music. Still, she is clear about what drives her: music has always been her calling, and she wants her work to receive that same attention.

What’s Next for Asia Dime?

At the time of her interview, Asia Dime had not announced an official release date for “Get It.” She plans to release visuals alongside the single and is interested in a release event, though those details remain unconfirmed.

“Trust me, it’s closer than you think,” she says.

Beyond the single, she’s promising more music, new looks, and different sounds as she continues building her name.
