Morrison was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1988 as well as given the President Medal of Freedom by President Obama in 2012. Morrison was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1988 as well as given the President Medal of Freedom by President Obama in 2012.
