Los Angeles artist DonnySolo steps into a whole new bag with his latest R&B/Soul project, Teddy Bear SZN — a warm, sexy, winter-ready soundtrack built for late nights, candles lit, bathtubs running, and somebody pulling up. It’s Solo at his most vulnerable and most versatile.
DonnySolo says the title came from watching the internet joke about “big boy season” every winter. Instead of leaning into the trend, he flipped it into something smoother.
“I wanted to call it Teddy Bear Season. It just sounded more comfortable, more sexy. Something for the ladies… something they can listen to when they feeling alone at night or with they nigga.”
But Teddy Bear SZN isn’t just a theme — it’s a whole experience. Solo describes the vibe simply:
“Sexy. A vibe. Something you turn on when you need to feel some type of shit — candles lit, bathtub going, blunt burning… definitely for the ladies, but some men can enjoy it too.”
Putting People in a Mood
DonnySolo made this project with one intention: to shift energy.
“When I was recording it, I wanted to put people in that mood — male or female. Go get you a female, go get you a nigga, get in that mood. Turn my shit on and do what you gotta do.”
The Features & Creative Chemistry
Even though the project feels intimate and personal, Solo brought in a small circle of talent — B Moore, NekoThaChaser, OTP C4, MyCrazyRO, T3razzyy — plus a standout surprise from Zoe Osama.
“Zoe pulled up randomly. He didn’t even know I sang. As soon as the song played, he said ‘open a verse,’ and it was history. He surprised me the most.”
He credits friendships and real connections for the rest:
“B Moore and T3 are my friends — I wanted to give them an opportunity to shine. And me and C4 been locked in since 2023.”
A New Layer of DonnySolo
For listeners who only know him as the rapper who collaborates with Lil Vada, Teddy Bear SZN opens a different door.
“People still see me as the guy who raps. I wanted to show I can do more — Afro, house, EDM, old school, whatever. My sensual side shows the most here. It’s definitely a softer DonnySolo.”
And the shift wasn’t accidental. Solo approached this one differently:
“It’s completely singing. I worked with real producers instead of pulling beats off YouTube. It was important to make my best work in this genre.”
Studio Moments & Creative Highlights
His favorite moment? A layered, harmony-heavy record called “Waiting On You.”
“I had the most fun with that one. It’s the only Afrobeat-style record on the project.”
The most defining track? “Bed.”
“The name says everything. It’s one of my best R&B songs, period — and I freestyled the whole thing.”
Where Teddy Bear SZN Takes Him Next
Solo hopes the project pushes people to see his full range.
“I hope this opens up opportunities for people to work with me on different styles. I mainly get sent party songs — I wanna do more than that.”
He’s already deep into the next chapter:
“I got two other projects coming, one produced solely by ScumBeatz, and more singles on the way.”

“I didn’t write a single word on this project. Every song came straight off the top.”
