YIKEMIKE on Producing for Blueface, Going Viral, Building on Kick, and His Vision for California Music | TrapLA Exclusive

There's a new wave of creatives on the West Coast who understand that success isn't just about making music—it's about building a brand. YIKEMIKE has become one of those names. As a producer with records alongside artists like Blueface, AlmightySuspect, AzChike, Vinny West, FatMeech, and Deshae Frost, he's also built a growing audience through streaming, where fans tune in for everything from marketing advice to music production and entertainment.

TrapLA recently caught up with YIKEMIKE to talk about how he got started, the artists who helped build his name, why he made the jump into streaming, and what's next.

A Love for Music Turned Into a Career

When asked how he first got into producing, YIKEMIKE said it all started with a genuine passion for music.

"Love for music and wanting to learn how to make my own beats."

As he continued learning the craft, his content began reaching more people.

"My freestyle instrumental challenges going viral and placements with upcoming LA artists as well as the hate and doubt from my peers made me take it more serious."

Instead of letting criticism discourage him, he used it as motivation to keep improving and growing his brand.

Building His Name on the West Coast

YIKEMIKE credits several West Coast artists for helping establish his reputation early in his career.

"AlmightySuspect, Blueface, Vinny West, FatMeech, AzChike etc helped me build my name music wise."

Those collaborations helped introduce his production style to audiences throughout Los Angeles and beyond.

Notable Production Credits

For anyone just discovering his work, YIKEMIKE pointed to several records that helped define his catalog.

"Blueface - Next Big Thing"

"Deshae Frost - Peso"

"AzChike - MHMMM"

"AlmightySuspect - Becky"

These placements have become some of his most recognized work and helped solidify his position among the new generation of West Coast producers.

Why He Started Streaming

Although he had already experimented with livestreaming, it was his community that convinced him to fully commit.

"My supporters and fans told me I'd be good at streaming because of my personality and told me to stream on Kick because nobody was really on that platform at the time doing what I do."

He explained that he already had experience streaming elsewhere before making the move.

"I already had a Twitch account I streamed on prior but I made a Kick account for the supporter that told me he'd watch and support me on there if I streamed."

That decision ended up opening a completely new lane for his career.

"Started and been consistent it's now a platform to promo my music and talents as well as others."

Why Viewers Keep Coming Back

When asked why his streams have been growing so quickly, YIKEMIKE believes it's the combination of education and entertainment.

"They most likely enjoy my knowledge in marketing, branding and making music as well as jokes, fun and my homegirls when they slide on stream."

His audience doesn't just tune in for music—they tune in for personality, conversation, and authentic interactions.

Advice for Young Creatives

As someone balancing music production and content creation, YIKEMIKE keeps his advice straightforward.

"Don't worry about women lock in and study your craft until you are where you (I) want to be."

It's a simple mindset that has helped him stay focused while continuing to build both sides of his career.

What's Next?

While fans continue to see him grow as both a producer and streamer, YIKEMIKE says the bigger picture is still unfolding.

"What ties everything together will reveal itself soon but it's still under construction."

His long-term goal reaches beyond making records.

"I want to solve a huge problem with not only Cali music but everything surrounding it."

Although he's keeping the details close for now, it's clear his ambitions extend far beyond producing hit songs.

TrapLA Take

YIKEMIKE's journey shows how today's creators can build successful careers by combining music, content, personality, and consistency. From producing records with some of the West Coast's recognizable artists to growing a loyal streaming audience on Kick, he's creating opportunities both for himself and for others.

With a larger vision still in development, YIKEMIKE is proving he's thinking beyond today's trends and looking toward the future of California music.
