LOS ANGELES– Joe Jackson, manager and patriarch of the Jackson family, passed away on Wednesday, TMZ reported. He was 89 years old.

Jackson was hospitalized with terminal cancer earlier this month.

He had 10 kids with his wife of more than 60 years, Katherine. He transformed five of his sons into the music group The Jackson 5 before Michael Jackson and Janet Jackson developed huge solo careers.

Joe Jackson was inducted into the Rhythm and Blues Hall of Fame in 2014.
